powerful poem on following purpose – ‘step into the unknown’

the day is coming quickly, where i pack up and go,

to explore the world, and all the beauty it has to show.

stepping out of my comfort, to step into the unknown.

no longer surrounded by familiarity, instead i’m all alone.

alone with my thoughts, emotions, and dreams.

figuring out my life story, cause it wasn’t as it seemed.

the future i once had planned, vanished before me.

but i’m grateful for all i’ve faced, to some degree.

you see life will throw curve balls, obstacles and challenges,

it’s all about adapting, to figure out my balances.

stepping away from influences, opinions and advice,

to figure out my life choices, without asking a device.

my life’s purpose speaks so loudly, so i need to step away,

away from everything i know, so my mind doesn’t sway.

i will not listen, and give in, to the voices around me,

i know the risk i’m taking, that’s why some people don’t agree.

but i’d prefer to look back in time and say, ‘atleast i tried’,

then ruminate over the times i stopped, cause i couldn’t decide.

decide to live the easy option, and continue my nine to five,

or step into the unknown, for my life’s purpose to strive.

the first step is the scariest, and it usually holds me back,

but that’s not an option, because this time, i am all ready and packed.
